— I recently bought a Kegland Malt Muncher 3 roll mill to replace my 10+ year old Barley Crusher. I've only gotten two batches on it, but the crush (to me) looked pretty good. Seems to be a great mill for the money. I used an old credit card to set my gap. I cut it into a couple of strips and discard the part with the raised account number.

It seems that the mill can't grind that fine in one pass. So, I set the roller gap to 0.050", ran the malt through once. I then set the gap to 0.030" and ran the malt through again, this time without a problem. The mill moves the malt through quickly so it's not a huge issue. 2. Best way to set gap, have some old grain to waste. I used about 1/2- 3/4 of a pound. Made six adjustments from mid point to get the crush I needed. Don't use hard to mill grain such as cara or dexi pils. It might jam the mill. When you do have to mill cara pils or dexi pils mix them evenly with your base grain before you fill the hopper.
